My HypnoBirting journey started with my own pregnancy. When I was pregnant with my son, I was living in Hong Kong, where the most common method for giving birth was by Caesarian Section. I neither wanted to undergo an operation just to give birth, nor was I comfortable with the idea of handing over control of my birthing to a surgeon. However, with everyone I talked to choosing to give birth by C-Section, I felt as though I didn't really have a choice on how I want to give birth.

After doing research into alternatives, I discovered Hypnobirthing and enrolled in a course. After the first two sessions, I found that my perspective had changed and I felt confident in myself and my body's ability to bring my baby into the world naturally. As I progressed through the rest of my course, my self-confidence and my ability to deal with stress and pain grew.

When the day finally came, and surges began, I felt very relaxed and didn't experience discomfort through the surges. However, when time came to go to the hospital, my stress level increased dramatically as my baby was found to be in the posterior position and I was bombarded with suggestions for all sorts of interventions and negative consequences if I didn't submit. After much debate, I was able to insist on having my birth naturally, but my stress level had become elevated and birth came to a standstill. My husband then applied the light touch massage and after a while it was like a relaxation switch had been turned on. I felt a wave of relaxation wash over my body and I was able to concentrate on my breathing again. I felt my belly begin to expand and had the sensation of my muscles working by itself to give birth. I remained in this state of relaxation as my son slowly turned into the correct position and made his way out to the world to meet me!

In 2009, I moved to Berlin, Germany. I was surprised to find that Hypnobirthing was not well known. Inspired by my experience, and building on my background as a psychologist, I decided to train as a Hypnobirthing Educator, and became the first Hypnobirthing educator in Berlin. Over the past few years, I have helped hundreds of women achieve their own gentle birthing experience!

As Hypnobirthing grew in popularity, it was difficult to keep up with demand for my Hypnobirthing Courses. I heard from many parents telling me how difficult it is to find courses that were both close by and available. So in 2015, I launched Hypnobirthing-Online.de, the first Hypnobirthing online course in German. Now I am very happy to be able to offer my new online course in English by launching Hypnobirthing Cloud.

My goal is to help as many women as possible discover Hypnobirthing so they can have their own natural and positive birthing experience, just the way nature intended. I look forward to sharing your wonderful birthing journey with you.

The Hypnobirthing Cloud course includes several exercises proven to help women overcome fear and anxieties, so they can focus on a birth that is beautiful, gentle and positive.

Hi Kathi, Just wanted to say thank you for this wonderful course. You have the most calming voice and it made relaxing so easy. I felt very well prepared for my birth and was looking forward to trying out all the methods. Noah's birth took ten hours and I stayed in the pool for a long time. I didn't have any feeling of time and was falling asleep during the surges. (My partner had to make sure I don't drown in the tub ;)) Noah was born with gentle pushing and my partner cut the cord. I had so much energy after the birth, I had to be convinced to be pushed ? driven? to my hospital bed. Thank you so much for everything!

It's been more than 10 weeks since I experience my dream birth, so I thought it's time to share it with you. The birth went by very quickly. I was in a birthing tub and could breathe through the waves very well. After 4 hours of breathing through waves, the pushing waves started. After 3 or 4 waves, our child was born! Our midwife was with us only for the last hour. The little one was doing well and so were we. We got to bond with our baby for about half an hour and at 6:00am the baby's surprised brother and sister woke up and joined us. Even though the birth went by so quickly, I had full confidence in myself and the baby, and that I had chosen the right course. I still like to think back to the great birth experience!
Kindest Regards,
Ina
